Equalities policy

This policy is designed to ensure that Antisocial Britain complies with its obligations under equality legislation and demonstrates our commitment to treating people within these categories, equally and fairly.

Antisocial Britain is unreservedly opposed to any form of discrimination on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation (defined as Protected Characteristics).

Scope of the policy.
The policy applies to:
Anyone who makes a post or comment on the Antisocial Britain website, Facebook pages or our group.

Direct discrimination.
When a person is treated less favorably than someone else because of their:

• sex
• marriage or civil partnership
• gender reassignment
• pregnancy and maternity leave
• sexual orientation
• disability
• race

Discrimination arising from disability.
This is where a disabled person is treated unfavorably because of something connected to their disability where it cannot be objectively justified.  This only applies where the person committing the discrimination knew or could reasonably be expected to know that the person was disabled.

Although most people in the above categories are not protected under the act, some of them may be covered in other ways, such as Invisible disability's and some care should be taken when commenting on posts that may have such people featured in them.

Breaches of the Equality and Diversity Policy
Breaches of this policy will result in them being reported to the relevant authorities.
